Yesterday we announced an all-California matchup. Today we are all-Brooklyn. Brooklyn was once a brewing hub (it could count nearly 50 breweries, most of them located in its Flatbush section), then fell on hard times—think "Welcome Back, Kotter"—then rose again to reclaim its reputation for excellent beer (along with music, bars, dog groomers, artisan light bulb makers, etc).

What's your favorite Brooklyn beer?

In years past, it was Reingold and Schaefer. Today, the borough's best-known beer exports are Brooklyn and Sixpoint—the breweries going head-to-head in our brewbracket today.

The Brooklyn Brewery pioneered the local brewing resurgance, opening in 1988, 12 years after the last of the old-line Brooklyn brewers, Schaefer, closed its doors in 1976. Brooklyn is as well known for its iconic logo as for its exellent beers, which include a lager, brown ale, double IPA and "greenmarket" wheat.

Sixopoint was founded in 2004 in Brooklyn's Red Hook section. It's made waves with its hoppy Sweet Action, Resin and Bengali beers, as well as The Crisp.

Vote for your favorite Brooklyn beer—and be sure to get your ticket for the Odessa Brewfest on Sept 12!
