2016: Blue Earl vs 3rd Wave
Blue Earl scored a wopping 321 votes to overtake a more than competitive Dogfish Head in the Quarterfinals to move into the semis. Similarly, 3rd Wave tallied well over 200 votes in a tight race against Fo Do Brewery. This semi will be a race for the ages as we head into the last week of #OdessaBrewBracket.
This microbrewery was established back in 2012 (ironically, if 3rd Wave were human, it would not be old enough to drink). While small, 3rd Wave brews 5 house beers year round with a variety of seasonal beers to keep their 14 taps full at all times. From backyard to brewhouse, you can taste 3rd Wave's humble beginnings in its American style IPA. With a deep golden color and a great hop bitterness balanced with a malty sweetness, their IPA would make the prefect drink to have while relaxing on the beach. This year they plan on sharing their 1st Wave IPA and Sandstorm Belgian Tripel at the Brewfest. Learn more about 3rd Wave >>
Blue Earl Brewing Company was established in 2014 (by far one of the youngest on this bracket). Founded by Ronnie “Blue” Earl Price, Blue Earl features 12 diffeent styles of beer from around the world. 2016 is their first Brewbracket appearance, though Blue Earl Beers were very present at the 2015 Odessa Brewfest. This year they'll bring their Walking Blues IPA and Honeysuckle Rose Blonde Ale, both crowd favorites. Learn more about Blue Earl >>
