Last year, Odessa Brewfest participants got to enjoy beer from New Belgium, a Colorado brewery only just now finally hitting the Philadelphia-area market. This year, brewfest patrons will get an even rarer treat. The Odessa Brewfest will be one of the very first places in the state to make available beer from California’s legendary Firestone Walker.
The Odessa Brewfest is about much more than beer.
Delaware is full of history and tradition—and some of it is just plain delicious! Hy-Point Farms, family-owned in Wilmington since 1919, will be serving up its specialty ice cream at this year’s Odessa Brewfest.
Is it ever good to be in a slump? It is if that slump comes from Bottle Slumpers. Created by Sue & Richie Michael of Earleville, Md., Bottle Slumpers offers an extensive selection of beer, wine and liquor bottles recycled into unique cheese plates, spoonrests, nut and candy dishes and wall decorations.
The American Homebrewer's Association released their annual list of top-ranked beers and breweries for 2015, and many of the names on the list will be very familiar to those who attended the Odessa Brewfest last year. One-third of the top 25 breweries and 17 of the 49 listed best beers in America were available for sampling on the beautiful grounds of the 1769 Warner-Wilson house.
