Route 113 IPA vs FM 966

Our matchup today features two beers from breweries recently added to the Odessa Brewfest lineup—Shiner, out of Shiner, Texas, and Sly Fox, from Phoenixville, Pa. Both beers honor local roads, appropriate as the summer driving season gets underway. Route 113 takes a surprising turn as it's about to cross the Schuylkill River just north of Phoenixville, and so too does Route 113 IPA, with an unexpected slightly sweet, toasted maltiness topping off the hop flavor. FM 966 is a farm-to-market road south of Shiner, which has long brought crops into the town and its century-old brewery. The beer delivers a refreshing spicy combo of hops and malt in a cloudy, golden-hued package.
