Fourth Beer of Christmas 2019: The Lost Abbey Gift of the Magi
On the Fourth Day of Christmas, my brewer gave to me... The Lost Abbey Gift of the Magi!
Everyone knows the story of the Three Kings; sent to the follow the star in the sky each brought a gift for the baby they sought. In true holiday fashion, The Lost Abbey produces a Christmas beer to honor this age-old tale, the Gift of the Magi.
This golden ale offers spicy hops with moderate malt sweetness fit for a king (or queen).
The beer starts off with an initial malt sweetness that fades into a firm but subtle hop presence. The lager yeast and cold maturation ensure a crisp smooth finish. As the beer matures, the Brettanomyces added at bottling becomes more pronounced and a drier beer evolves.
The ABV is 10.3%.
Step back in time at the Historic Odessa's annual holiday celebration - a seasonal tradition of interpreting scenes from classic literature. This season our celebration lasts through December 31, 2019.
This year's theme is based upon the classic novel, The Secret Garden, written by the English novelist and playwright Frances Hodgson Burnet. Be delighted with vignettes that include depictions of famous scenes from the novel in the Corbit Sharp House, c. 1774. Rejuvenate your spirit this Christmas by touring this memorable exhibition.
