2018: Dedicated Fans Make Another Successful Brewfest

Rainy weather did not deter the crowds streaming into Odessa, Delaware on September 8, 2018 for the fifth annual Odessa Brewfest. The good times got rolling quickly amid the historic homes of this 18th century village while visitors enjoyed the finest regional and national craft breweries, accompanied by great food, great music, and great people.

Over 2,100 festival goers, vendors and volunteers enjoyed crab cakes, tacos and bratwurst from Cantwell’s Tavern and tater tots, pulled pork, and cheese steaks from Roaming Raven Food Truck while sampling award-winning ales, stouts, lagers, cider and Belgian beers from fifty-eight craft breweries from across the state and beyond.

Those looking to go beyond beer enjoyed fine wines from Harvest Ridge and local artisanal spirits from Painted Stave.

Guy and Lady Barrel’s alcohol-infused cigars proved popular, and many patrons were seen admiring fine hand carved wooden art from local artisan Timber Fall WoodworkingRocker SoapsPolish Pottery, and Lodestone Candles also drew crowds interested in soap and skin care oils, ceramics and mosaic pottery, and recycled soy wax candles, respectively.

Adding to the festival atmosphere was live music from Spokey Speaky and A Different Breed, on the main stage, and jazzist Bruce Anthony and guitarist Tony Mowen on the garden stage.

Beer lovers enjoyed the local flavor, discussed their favorite brews, danced to live music and admired the beauty of the surroundings. Copious free water and a large tent with tables offered relief from the rain until, later in the afternoon, when the clouds parted and the sun appeared.
