Introduced last year to much attendee excitement, the Men’s and Women’s Steinholding Competitions will be held once again during the 2025 Historic Odessa Brewfest on Sept. 6.

ODESSA, Del. — July 24, 2025 — The Historic Odessa Foundation and Cantwell’s Tavern proudly announce the return of the Historic Odessa Brewfest, now in its 12th year, taking place Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 12 to 5:30 p.m.

Held on the historic grounds of the foundation’s Wilson-Warner House (1769), Delaware’s first house museum, the Historic Odessa Brewfest is a signature fundraising event that blends the state’s rich colonial history with the vibrant culture of craft brewing. Guests will enjoy a curated selection of regional and national beers, live music, gourmet bites, games, artisan vendors, and colonial brewing and camp cooking traditions in an unforgettable setting steeped in 18th-century charm.

Sip, Savor & Celebrate
Craft beer lovers can look forward to sampling from 50-plus breweries, including 15 Delaware favorites, offering everything from hop-forward IPAs and silky stouts to crisp lagers and inventive small-batch creations.

General admission and VIP ticket holders will receive a souvenir 2 oz. tasting mug for unlimited pours throughout the day.

New and Returning Highlights:

• Live Music Across Two Stages: Jam to local bands including Lester’s Pearl (12 p.m.) and Spokey Speaky (2:45 p.m.) on the main stage. The Garden Stage will feature the soulful sounds of Bruce Anthony (12 p.m.) and the lively Sheehan Brothers (2:45 p.m.).
• Colonial Brewing Demonstration: Witness the past come to life with Regimental Brewmeister Michael Carver, who brings 18th-century brewing techniques to the present day.
• Colonial Camp Cooking Demonstration: Attendees will see traditional methods of preparing food over an open fire using period-accurate tools, recipes, and techniques from the 18th century.
• Feats of Strength: Test your stamina in the popular second annual Men’s and Women’s Steinholding Competitions endorsed by the U.S. Steinholding Association.
• Games, Vendors & the Fusion Beer Mile: Enjoy lawn games, unique artisan vendors selling handcrafted goods, and a spirited beer race. New this year will be a caricature sketch artist.
• VIP Experience: Get early access at noon, including exclusive and limited-quantity beers, plus an upgraded glass tasting mug.

• General Admission: $60 in advance / $70 at the gate (entry at 1 p.m.)
