Woodworker Brings Fine Kitchenware to Brewfest

If there’s a theme running through everything associated with the Odessa Brewfest, it’s artistry. From well-crafted brews to delicious food, hand-rolled cigars and excellent music, the brewfest is a showcase of quality and craftsmanship. In that same spirit we're pleased to welcome woodworker Paul Schiffelbein to our line-up of vendors.

An Artisan Craftsman

Schiffelbein, a native of southern California who now lives in Chesapeake City, Md., combines his skills in working with wood and love of cooking to create high-quality, hand-hewn cutting boards, bread boards, serving trays and cheese boards. All are inlayed with different woods and deserve to be called functional works of art. Schiffelbein is a master of his artisan craft.

“The most common comment I get is 'I couldn’t bear to cut on it,'” Schiffelbein says. ”But you can - it stands up.”

Made with specially chosen exotic hard woods and food-safe finishes, Schiffelbein’s products are meant to be used and enjoyed for years.

“I work with the woods kind of like a painter,” Schiffelbein, who also paints, says. “I’m looking to express a particular color mood and a textural mood.”

Come meet Paul Schiffelbein, master artisan craftman, at the Odessa Brewfest in Odessa, Del. on Sept. 10, 2016. Sample fine craft beers from over 50 breweries as you enjoy great food, music and vendors in an 18th century village located only 23 miles south of Wilmington.
