Fifth Beer of Christmas 2018: Southern Tier Old Man Winter
On the Fifth Day of Christmas, my brewer gave to me... Southern Tier's Old Man Winter!
Southern Tier's winter offering is here to quell your shivers and get you through the coldest of nights. A rich marriage of hops and barley to cast light upon the evening and melt your mind out of the snowdrifts. Old Man Winter’s earthy hue and thickness lace around the glass, inviting you to linger in its warmth and share the spirits of the season with your friends and family.
A deceptively strong brew, it’s best to sit and ponder with this old man, sip by sip.
Southern Tier's Old Man Winter is a seasonal Old-style Ale, which creates a perfect balance between Ale yeast, three varieties of hops, and two varieties of malts to create a hearty brew. Settle down with an aroma of roasted malts, a touch of smoke, pepper, and floral hops. The earthy mouthfeel of Old Man Winter flawlessly combines with the hints of bittersweet cocoa, nutty, and defined malts.
The ABV is 7.5%.
Step back in time at the Historic Odessa's annual holiday celebration - a seasonal tradition of interpreting scenes from classic literature. This season our celebration lasts from November 14 through December 31, 2018.
This year's theme is based upon the classic novel, A Christmas Carol, In Prose, Being a Ghost Story of Christmas, by Charles Dickens. This special exhibit celebrates the 175th anniversary of the story first published in 1843. Be delighted with vignettes that include depictions of famous scenes from the novel in the Corbit Sharp House, c. 1774.
