Rainbow Full of Sound

American music, jam band, classic rock, Motown, blues and country, improvisation

Rainbow Full of Sound is a mixture of American music, jam band, classic rock, Motown, blues and country, as well as improvisational jazz.

The band features a revolving cast of musicians. The lineup for the 2016 Odessa Brewfest featured Corby Pryor on lead guitar. Called a “guitar prodigy” by the Jerry Garcia Foundation, Pryor performed last fall with Rainbow Full of Sound and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead at the Hard Rock Cafe in San Francisco.

The group is directed by keyboardist/vocalist Waynard Scheller, who has performed on multiple occasions with Weir, as well as with Donna Jean Godchaux (of the Grateful Dead) and many others. Scheller has toured the country for the past year with guitarist John Kadlecik (Furthur/Dark Star Orchestra/Phil and Friends).

Scheller, a Dogfish Head American Beauty IPA fan, mentioned looking forward to Sept. 10, 2016 Odessa Brewfest, "Combining great music and great beer on a September day, in a casual community-like setting sounds like a recipe for a really fun time."
