We tripeled our fun on Friday (or is it trippel with 2 Ps? sounds like we need to hold a separate vote), sampling Flying Fish's Exit 4 alongside Allagash Tripel. Allagash is uncharacteristically crisp for a tripel, without the sometimes cloying sweetness that can affect stronger beers, which helps the fruity hints to really stand out. Exit 4 is a nicely balanced new-world take on a Belgian classic, fulfilling the label's promise of citrusy notes folowed by subtle bitterness.
