A style derived from the Steam Beer by Anchor Steam Brewing is now referred to as California Common, it is known as a lager which can be fermented at ale temperatures. This helps bring out the nice subtle piney notes from the Chinook hops while keeping the smooth and crisp drinkability of a lager.
